Things to do
Bishop Museum of Science & Nature
When in the Brandeton area, be sure to stop by at the Bishop Museum of Science & Nature - the largest natural and cultural history museum on Florida’s Gulf Coast. In addition to fascinating permanent exhibits, there is also a range of ever-changing temporary displays on a whole host of subjects.
Highlights at the Bishop Museum of Science & Nature include a manatee habitat and rehabilitation programme, and the planetarium, where visitors can watch films and discover the secrets of the sky.
Explore Bean Point
Bean Point, as the locals have affectionately named it, is the northernmost tip of Anna Maria Island where the Gulf of Mexico merges with Tampa Bay. This is more on an insider tip as there are no obvious road signs or markings to point you along the way, but once you do discover this hidden gem, there is plenty to see and do.
Whilst there is limited parking, we suggest cycling up to Bean Point. Here you can go fishing between Bean Point and Passage Key, watch the waves for manatees and dolphins, or take a dip in the warm water being mindful of tides and currents.
St. Pete Beach
St. Pete Beach: award-winning, iconic, and drenched in sunshine on an average of 361 days a year. Kick back and relax on the white sand, or try your hand at the range of watersports and active pursuits available on the beach from snorkelling to sailing and stand up paddleboarding.
Also boasting brilliant amenities and facilities, St. Pete Beach offers enough to keep you busy and entertained. Don’t forget to catch the sun setting over the water from a beach bar or restaurant at the end of the day.
